2021<\/strong>\u00a0was the year dedicated to the celebrations on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri<\/strong>, the father of the Italian language and author of the Divine Comedy.<\/p>\n

Already in 2020, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers has announced the so-called Danted\u00ec<\/strong> every 25th<\/sup> March to celebrate the “National Day dedicated to Dante Alighieri<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, communication and dissemination initiatives are and will be promoted, aimed at “strengthening knowledge of the figure and work of Dante Alighieri, with particular attention to the younger generations and schools<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Why the 25th <\/sup>of March? According to some scholars it is one of the dates identified as the beginning of Dante\u2019s journey to the afterlife, recounted in the Divine Comedy.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Dante has been the first to use the expression \u201cBelpaese<\/em>\u201d<\/strong> to describe the beauties of Italy and the idea of unity of the country: \u201cthe peoples of that fair land where si is heard\u201d<\/em> (Inferno XXXIII chant), verses in which the Supreme Poet addresses to the Italians – at a time when Italy was still a concept in the making \u2013 and to the language (the so-called \u201clanguage of yes<\/em>\u201d as opposed to the \u201clangue d\u2019oc<\/em>\u201d and \u201clangue d\u2019o\u00efl<\/em>\u201d which he already considers as a point of reference and the “yes” the first nucleus of a common identity.<\/p>\n

For this reason,\u00a0Olio Dante – who has a “special” relationship with the Supreme Poet<\/strong>\u00a0– chose to celebrate the 2021 with a Special Edition Label, thus bringing\u00a0“poetry to the table”<\/strong>! It is known: food is culture, weaving together ancient knowledge and flavors, traditions and passions.<\/p>\n
